Sources
State and federal office facts — competent authority, addresses, fees, processing times, accepted documents — are taken from the office's own published pages and forms. Country status is taken from the Hague Conference on Private International Law's status table for the 1961 Convention. Country-specific requirements come from embassy and consulate pages and official government instructions. Each page lists the sources used.
Review cycle
Pages carry a "Reviewed" month. State and federal pages are re-checked against official pages on a rolling basis and whenever a change is reported in the news section. Where an office publishes conflicting figures, both are reported.
What is verified and what is not
Facts marked as coming from secondary sources (for example where an official site could not be reached during review) are labeled on the page. Processing times are the office's published figures, not measured turnaround.
Independence
This portal is not affiliated with any government agency. It accepts no payment for placement of office information. Where third-party services are mentioned, they are presented as options, not endorsements.
Corrections
Corrections are made as soon as an inaccuracy is confirmed against the official source, and the review date is updated.
